PROJECTS

Line A Improvements

In fiscal years 2008 and 2009, the District began construction of the first phase of a project in the Russell City neighborhood of Hayward to restore and stabilize channel banks and bottom along Line A between Cabot Boulevard and the Union Pacific Railroad.

The District also began the design of the second project phase to stabilize and restore the lower reach of Line A between the confluence of Line E and the Cabot Boulevard crossing. Both project phases will increase channel capacity to contain a 100-year flood event. Following construction, the channel will be landscaped with native vegetation to restore natural habitat.
